2016 Environmental Management Workshop

The GEMG's biennial workshop runs over three consecutive days and is held in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the heart of Western Australia's mining industry.  The 2016 workshop was held on 18-20 May 2016 and was attended by over 220 environmental professional from around Australia. The workshop was formally opened by the Governor of Western Australia on the first day.

A total of 41 presentations were delivered covering a diverse range of topcis including climate change, waste characterisation, mine closure, regulatory reforms, flora and fauna management, ranger programs and salt lakes.  A showcase of environmental mining services was provided throughout the workshop with 16 exhibitor booths located around the WMC conference centre.
